Ashley Porter
When someone tells you a story, you may remember facts, but what you likely remember most is how it made you feel. That’s why I enjoy sharing stories in a way that lets viewers become immersed in the subject and gets to the heart of what they should know. I developed technology and storytelling skills as a multimedia journalist in local news, and I now have the privilege of sharing these skills with hundreds of students in grades five through 12.
I am a digital media production teacher at Pine Crest School in South Florida. Along with developing and implementing creative, technology-integrated curricula for the classroom, I also produce video stories and anchor broadcasts for my school that are shared through news updates and on social media.
I have several years of experience in education, instructional technology, communications, videography, editing, reporting, writing for television and the web, going live, creating unique and shareable content for social media platforms, and even learning WordPress through working on this website. Before I had the honor of working for Pine Crest School, I was a reporter for The List, a nationally syndicated newsmagazine. I also worked at WTSP (CBS) in Tampa Bay and News 8 Austin (now known as Spectrum News Austin).
